JED Campus Committee
The JED Campus Committee is an interdisciplinary team at CGCC, working through the phases of the 4-year JED Campus journey.
What does JED stand for? “Not what, but who,” Committee Chair Shayna Dahl likes to say. “The Jed Foundation (JED) was founded in 2000 by a family that lost their son to suicide on a college campus. JED partners with colleges to strengthen their mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention programs and systems.” JED has a comprehensive, public health approach to promoting emotional well-being and preventing suicide and serious substance misuse. Columbia Gorge Community College became a JED Campus in September 2018.
