About the Event

The College & Career Expo 2027 is a four-hour, hands-on experience designed to help high school juniors and seniors explore their next steps after graduation. Hosted by Columbia Gorge Community College and community partners, the Expo brings together colleges, employers, training programs, and community organizations from across the region.

Students will rotate through interactive workshops, meet with representatives on the Expo floor, tour CGCC’s campus, and enjoy a free lunch. The event centers on practical exploration, giving students opportunities to compare pathways, ask questions directly of professionals, and learn about options ranging from transfer degrees and technical training to apprenticeships and careers in emerging local industries.

The 2026 Expo welcomed more than 200 students from eight regional school districts, 44 participating organizations, and 13 breakout session presenters. The 2027 event builds on that momentum with more opportunities for students to connect with real options for their futures.

The Expo reflects CGCC’s ongoing commitment to educational access, workforce readiness, and equitable opportunity throughout the Columbia Gorge. By bringing educators, employers, and students together in one space, the event creates a bridge between high school, college, and careers, helping young people envision the many routes they can take toward meaningful work and continued education.

Last Year's Event: College & Career Expo 2026 Welcomes More Than 200 Students

The 2026 College & Career Expo brought more than 200 students from eight regional school districts to Columbia Gorge Community College for a day of career and educational exploration.

Students connected with 44 participating organizations and took part in breakout sessions led by 13 presenters, exploring educational programs, careers, training opportunities, and industries throughout the Columbia Gorge and beyond.

This free, community-centered event provided a bridge between education and the workforce, giving high school students opportunities to explore career paths, meet local employers, and learn about educational and training options. The Expo also created opportunities for employers and educators to connect directly with the next generation of workers and learners.

“This event showcases what is possible when our community comes together to support student success,” said Jessica Griffin Conner, event coordinator. “We are proud to offer a space where opportunity meets inspiration.”

The Expo is part of CGCC’s broader commitment to equitable access to education and economic opportunity throughout the region. Participating organizations represent a wide range of pathways, from technical training programs and colleges and universities to local employers and community organizations, reflecting CGCC’s focus on helping students identify the next step that works for them.
