Background

Teaching is a choice Jules feels lucky to be able to make. She has come to this calling from careers in both art and science and she teaches to learn. Learning about how things work sustains Jules and she loves to help others learn about that too. She lives in Hood River with her husband and teenage son. They choose to have plants, animals and some fungi living with them - of the animals, Jules' cat Pig is a favorite, until she shows her nasty side.

Jules was born in Utah and has lived in several states before settling here in what is "home" to her. She and her family are involved in the community in a variety of ways; Columbia Art Center, Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute, 4-H, and GorgeHomeLearners (their homeschool group) are long term commitments.
