Background

Ed began his exploration in the sciences after repeat injuries in his youth brought him to want to learn more about the psychology and physiology of injury. He began his undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse and ultimately completed his Master's in Science of Physical Therapy from Northern Illinois University in 2006. The week after graduation he moved west to Portland to explore the natural beauty of the cascade mountains and pacific coast. He completed a post graduate fellowship in manual physical therapy and is a board certified orthopedic physical therapist. While practicing physical therapy in Portland he also worked in the human dissection lab at Pacific University. In 2012 he and his wife Taryn moved to Hood River.

Teaching, for him, is about sharing quality information to improve understanding of our own bodies while building empathy and knowledge of how physiology plays out differently in others.

He most enjoys being in the woods or on the beach with his wife and two boys.
