Background

Professor Davis has over 35 years of experience in Manufacturing, International Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing. Extensive experience in China, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. Created and managed manufacturing facilities and distribution locations throughout Asia. Marketed and sold electronic products in over 17 different countries.

Professor Davis is a Commercial Pilot with FAR 135 experience. Instrument rated in Single and Multi-Engine aircraft. He holds a Remote Pilot License and is active in offering UAS consulting and training. 

In 2020, Professor Davis was honored with the FAA's highest award; the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. The award recognizes professionalism, skill, and aviation expertise spanning at least a half-century of civilian and military service. 

Professor Davis, in 2020, has been appointed as an FAA Safety Team Representative and is an APSA-certified NIST Proctor (both basic and advanced flight exams). In addition, Mr. Davis is a AUVSI Top Operator level 2 instructor.

Professor Davis holds patents related to lasers and their portable applications.

Professor Davis has published a number of textbooks (sUAS Management, UAS Remote Pilot Flying Handbook), articles and a mystery novel.

His work experience expands over 35 years including:

A/D Electronics, Inc. 
Founded and developed a electronic component manufacturing company. Directed company from start-up to over $25 million. Negotiated foreign Merger (M&A) in 2003. Responsible for all aspects of development. Employed over 1,200 people in three factories in China. Guided transition Team from 2003-2004.  He was awarded the "Marco Polo" award in 2005 for global success in International business.

Davis Aviation, Inc.
Founder and President of a Flight Based Operation (FBO) that included a flight school as well as charter and aircraft maintenance services. Successfully developed federally approved manuals for all operations working closely with the Federal Aviation Administration. Developed world-class flight school preparing students to obtain their commercial, instrument, multi-engine, and ATP certification.

Other Experience
Professor Davis has extensive international experience and was a USA Representative of ISAT, the Investment and Support Agency of Turkey, that reported directly to the Prime Minister of Turkey. 

Professor Davis joined the CGCC faculty in 2016 as an expert in sUAS and has qualified the college in the Trusted Operator Program (TOP) at the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) level for sUAS flight training. 
He now teaches in the Business & Entrepreneurship program as well. In addition, he is an author, patent holder, international business award winner, and pilot.
