Background

Jarett Gilbert is a higher education professional with experience and passion for helping students achieve their academic and career goals, supporting faculty in delivering high quality instruction, and identifying opportunities to collaborate with business and industry. Jarett began his career at New York University College of Dentistry, connecting international dentists with hands-on specialized training in the Office for International Programs, and then overseeing the clinical participation programs for local practitioners as Director of the Linhart Continuing Dental Education Program. In 2015, Jarett and his wife relocated to her home state of Oregon, at which point he joined the transformative mission of community colleges.  As Associate Dean of Technology, Applied Science, and Public Services, and Director of Health Sciences at Clackamas Community College, Jarett provided leadership for Harmony (Milwaukie) and Wilsonville campuses, as well as a variety of career and technical programs, including health sciences, apprenticeships, and fire science. Jarett and his wife have been proud Hood River residents since 2018.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and French at Franklin University Switzerland, his master’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean studies at New York University, and his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at George Fox University.
