Course Description

Provides training in the use of various interior and exterior finish materials and techniques. Includes calculating material quantities and accurate measuring techniques. Prerequisites: MTH 98 or placement into MTH 65; placement into IRW 115 or WR 115. Audit Available.

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  1. Calculate material quantities for interior and exterior finishes.
  2. Accurately measure, cut and install exterior finishes.
  3. Accurately measure, cut and install interior finishes.
  4. Properly install hardware to doors and cabinets.

Suggested Outcome Assessment Strategies

Outcomes are assessed through a combination of hands-on and written assessments.  Priority is given to hands-on proficiency based assessment in an environment that requires demonstration of skills necessary for success in industry.
