Launch your career in aviation!

Are you a high school junior or senior with a passion for planes and a knack for fixing things? Our Aviation Maintenance Technician program at Columbia Gorge Community College (CGCC) is your gateway to a high-demand, high-wage career as an aircraft mechanic.

Buckle up -- the aircraft maintenance field is taking off!

Recent aviation industry studies, reports, and FAA guidance show high growth in the aviation industry, but there's already not enough certified aircraft maintenance technicians to meet demand, and demand is going to accelerate for the foreseeable future! This means graduates taking off from our FAA-approved Aircraft Maintenance Technician program are entering a career where they can count on well paying job opportunities wherever they land, whether that's close to home or around the world.

Why Choose Our Program?

Comprehensive
Our hands-on program offers two layers of comprehensive training, designed to teach all the knowledge and skills needed to pass the FAA licensure exams in Aviation Airframe and/or Aviation Powerplant. Our program demands dedication and hard work, but the rewards are well worth it. With one or both of those certifications, our graduates will have all they need to go after their aviation dream job.

Award-winning
At a recent industry event, our students went head-to-head with teams from much larger programs, and in 5 out of 6 events, we took at least one of the top three spots! Our instructional flight crew is small but mighty, meaning lots of individual attention and support from instructors and fellow students.

Affordable
Community colleges are the most practical way to get started with college and CGCC, with its spectacular location (less than 90 miles from Portland and zero miles from the Columbia Gorge) and friendly attitude can't be beat.
Our Student Services team can help find financial aid, grants, scholarships, and support for all of our students.
