Biography

Kalie was born and raised in the Columbia River Gorge and attended high school in White Salmon, where hands-on activities in shop classes became her favorite way to learn. Following high school, she enrolled in CGCC's Renewable Energy Technology program, the predecessor of what is now the Electro-Mechanical Technology program. She worked locally for several years as a Wind Turbine Technician, later taking a term position on the electrician crew at Bonneville Dam. She began teaching in the Electro-Mechanical Technology program at CGCC in 2022 and believes in the importance of providing hands-on training to others, in service of furthering the technologies which advance renewable means of energy production.
