A little bit of information about the open forums:

We have asked each candidate to present themselves for up to 20 minutes at the beginning of each session (to give us an idea of who they are and what they would bring to CGCC to the degree that they know us). After that, there will be an informal Q&A session. Open forums are come and go, so please drop in when you can and stay for as long as you can

The application application deadline last night and have received a remarkable 44 applications. These applications reflect tremendous effort and commitment from the applicants. Presidential Search Committee members have been in the process of reviewing applications since early November and hope to conclude our reviews by February 6. The committee will meet to select a group of semi-finalists, who will be interviewed later this month.

The Presidential Search Screening Committee met in executive session to discuss the presidential candidate profile and search timeline. A recommendation will be made to the Board of Education for final adoption at the November board meeting.

Gold Hill Associates will host forums to gather input from CGCC faculty, staff, students and community members about its leadership needs in the next CGCC president. Information gathered at the sessions will be compiled and shared with the Presidential Search Screening Committee. The committee will make use of this input as they draft the official presidential profile to be approved by the CGCC Board and utilized throughout the search.

Dr. Preston Pulliams of Gold Hill Associates will facilitate the forums; times and locations for the Open Forums are as follows:

CGCC Board of Education and Gold Hill Associates invite nominations from the college's internal and external community to serve on the presidential screening committee. Nominees should understand and express the needs of the college from the perspectives of their constituencies. For questions and information about nominations, contact tprince@cgcc.edu. Nominations close on September 25.

September 12, 2017

  • Board members review five responses to the RFPs that were submitted and unanimously voted to select Gold Hill Associates, an executive search firm based in Jackson, Mississippi to lead CGCC's presidential search. Dr. Preston Pulliams, lead consultant for this work, had a nine-year successful tenure as District President of Portland Community College.
  • Board members also approved the structure for the CGCC Presidential Screening Committee; which will be comprised of staff, faculty, one student, and members of the community.

August 2017

  • The Columbia Gorge Community College Board of Education announces the planning and development of a Request for Propsals (RFP) to seek a Presidential Search Consultant. The consultant will lead the search process in recruiting and reviewing local, state, and national candidates.
  • The RFP for a search consultant is released.
