Columbia Gorge Community College (CGCC) has signed a co-admission agreement for its nursing students with the Linfield University Adult Degree Program. Under the terms of the agreement, students who are in good standing in the CGCC Nursing Program may apply to Linfield’s RN-to-BSN Online Program.
Once co-admitted, students may take non-nursing courses needed for a bachelor’s degree while completing their Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Degree at CGCC.
Co-admission to both programs will also provide access to a Linfield advisor and some additional financial aid options for the nursing students.
Under an agreement between CGCC and Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), graduates with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Degree from CGCC can transition to OHSU and earn their bachelor’s degree.
The Baccalaureate Completion Program for RNs offered by OHSU is designed for medical personnel who are working. Courses are offered online with occasional voice-to-voice webinars and a two-day conference held in Salem or Portland.
CGCC nursing program graduates who wish to obtain their bachelor’s from OHSU will be required to complete six credits of “transition” classes and then 33 credits of senior level courses. OHSU requires that students fulfill these requirements within five years of admission in order to earn a degree.
