What is the college’s stance on working remotely?

Employees should check with their managers and supervisors in regards to working remotely. Remote work arrangements are based on the specific needs of departments and are not appropriate for all positions. Approval should be obtained before performing any work remotely.

I have a health condition and I am concerned about coming to work. What can I do?

The college recommends employees with specific health concerns contact their healthcare provider for medical advice tailored to their individual situations. Employees should then contact Human Resources to discuss this so it can be evaluated from an accommodation standpoint and also, if needed, from a leave coordination standpoint depending on the specifics. 

Can I use sick leave if I am diagnosed with novel coronavirus disease 2019, known as COVID-19, or if I need to care for a diagnosed family member?

All employee groups are eligible to use accrued sick leave for absences due to personal illness, including COVID-19, or to care for an ill family member, based on the appropriate policy or collective bargaining agreement.

Do I have options for remote access to healthcare through my health insurance plan so I can speak with a medical professional without visiting a medical clinic?

Yes, Moda offers virtual visits, a registered nurse advice line, and eDoc options for those who are unable to get in to their primary care physician.  Visit their website to learn more about the available options.

Does a COVID-19 related absence qualify for Short Term Disability coverage?

Employees currently enrolled in Short Term Disability (STD) coverage through American Fidelity may be eligible for STD benefits on the specific facts of the claim and subject to the provisions of the Group Policy. For more information, visit the American Fidelity website
