Attention Galentines and Valentines!

Please join us for a celebration of CGCC's PERIOD Chapter launch, sponsored by the CGCC Access & Diversity Committee.  We've recently committed to ending period poverty for CGCC students by providing free menstrual products in the all-gender and women's bathrooms on The Dalles and Hood River campuses.  With special guests from The Columbia River Women's Center, we're excited to host a free showing and discussion of the Oscar-award winning documentary short film, Period. End of Sentence. Pizza, cookies and punch will be provided, along with goody bags while supplies last!  Bring your family and bring your friends!   ALL are welcome!  RSVP HERE.

About PERIOD chapters: Chapters strive to advance PERIOD's mission of ending period poverty and period stigma by creating action plans employing service, education and advocacy. Chapters run educational workshops in their community to reshape the way people think, talk and learn about periods. They also distribute menstrual products to people in need in their community. (From PERIOD.org).

About the film: Period. End of Sentence. aims to inspire people everywhere to think globally and recognize the impact young women can have. The film follows the women of Kathikhera, a village outside of New Delhi, India, as they install a machine and sell their pads throughout their district. (From The Pad Project.org).

Want to get more involved? You can easily donate menstrual products for distribution among CGCC students in Student Services on The Dalles or Hood River campuses. You can also join the chapter!   Email jchristensen@cgcc.edu for more information.

CGCC is an equal opportunity educator and employer.  For accommodations, please contact Shayna Dahl, Sdahl@cgcc.edu or call 541-506-6046.
