FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 (also known as the Buckley Amendment) prohibits the use or dissemination of personally-identifiable student information without the student's permission. CGCC adheres to FERPA when handling and using student information.

Columbia Gorge Community College does not give, sell, or otherwise transfer any email address listed on its site to any other party for the purpose of initiating, or enabling others to initiate email messages. 

Social Security Number Disclosure

Providing a Social Security number is voluntary. If a student provides it, the college will use their Social Security number for keeping records, doing research, aggregate reporting, extending credit and collecting debts. A student’s Social Security number will not be given to the general public. Students who choose not to provide a Social Security number will not be denied any rights as a student. Photos and Video Taken on Campus

CGCC reserves the right to use photos and video taken at college-sponsored events on- or off-campus for college promotional use. Individuals who do not wish to have their image used should speak to Student Services or the event coordinator for an event they attend or participate in.
