Paula grew up in the Boston area, where her family has lived since the mid 1800s. There are many engineers in her paternal family and many teachers on her maternal side. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand, working on water resource projects. Upon returning from Southeast Asia, she attended Oregon State University to study language acquisition and curriculum design. As a faculty member, she has taught English to speakers of other languages (ESOL) at community colleges and universities. Paula enjoys merging family traditions of technology and education to work creatively. You can see the results of faculty projects at the CGCC You Tube site, faculty resources, and the Moodle homepage.
