We are looking for a part-time addition to our friendly & family-owned sewing & vacuum store, Hood River Sewing & Vacuum. This position is a bit of a catch-all, including customer service, sales, technology & social media assistance, and managing parts orders. Our ideal candidate is friendly, patient with customers and co-workers, a fast learner, dependable worker, flexible, and able to juggle demands as they arise, also with a good eye for media

Type: Part-time (12-18 hrs/wk; work in 4-5 hr shifts on alternating/rotating days [negotiable])
Pay: $10/hr (up to $12/hr with commensurate experience) + sales commissiondesign and social media use.


Primary duties

  • Technology & media assistance (website maintenance [drag & drop], social media updates, instructional video production, signage production)
  • Customer service (using cash register/POS, answering phones, selling merchandise, familiarization with inventory)
  • Assisting repair technician with parts orders (online research, online orders, calling distributors)
  • Sales of and possible service of computerized sewing machines

Other duties

  • Occasional heavy lifting
  • Light cleaning
  • Updating displays
  • Work occasional Saturdays
  • Occasionally attend sales & service trainings in Portland
