Background

Charlotte joined the Board in 2011 representing Hood River County where she was born and raised. She attended Oregon State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Portland State University in 1972. She has had a diverse career as an enterprising businesswoman as well as a public servant. She has been a teacher in the public classroom, dance educator, founder of her own marketing and event planning company, boutique owner, Marketing Director for two educational computer software companies, Customer Service and Sales Director for two computer Etailers, Director of Customer Service for Wine.com, Executive Assistant to the Hood River County Sheriff, and Fashion Consultant. She founded the Mid-Columbia School of Dance Arts in 1975, now the Columbia Gorge Dance Academy, and she continues to teach students of all ages.

Charlotte and her husband, Richard, of 40 years, formerly the Hood River Country Surveyor and Director of Public Works are especially proud of their three grown children, all of whom were educated in the Hood River Valley. They each have multiple degrees from various universities and colleges and successful careers as well. Charlotte loves dancing, gardening, wine tasting, reading, interior decorating, traveling and visiting with their young granddaughter whenever possible.
